Jugo Verde: A Traditional Mexican Green Juice for Daily Nourishment

Times of rest and reset often invite us to reflect on what truly supports our well-being. Especially during colder months, when energy naturally slows and routines feel harder to maintain, small daily rituals can make a meaningful difference.

For me, one of those grounding rituals is Jugo Verde, a traditional Mexican green juice enjoyed by many as part of their morning routine. It’s fresh, vibrant, and deeply nourishing, offering gentle energy without feeling heavy. I’m sharing it in hopes it becomes part of your routine too.

Why Jugo Verde Is So Good for You

This nutrient-dense green juice supports whole-body wellness in simple, powerful ways:

  • Supports hydration with water-rich fruits and vegetables

  • Aids digestion through fiber, ginger, and cactus (nopales)

  • Boosts immunity with vitamin-rich greens and citrus

  • Rich in antioxidants and nutrients that support cellular health

Jugo Verde is refreshing yet grounding, perfect for when your body craves nourishment without overstimulation.

Traditional Jugo Verde Ingredients

  • 1 medium cucumber, chopped

  • 2 cups fresh spinach

  • 1 green apple, chopped

  • 1 cactus leaf (nopales), thorns removed and sliced

  • ½ cup celery slices

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • ½ tablespoon fresh ginger

  • ½ cup coconut water

  • Pinch of salt

  • ⅓ cup pineapple

These whole-food ingredients come together to create a green juice that’s lightly sweet, mineral-rich, and cleansing.

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender.

  2. Blend until completely smooth.

  3. Taste and adjust lime or salt as needed.

You can strain the juice if you prefer a thinner texture, but keeping it unstrained preserves the fiber that supports digestion and steady energy.

Storage Tips

Store Jugo Verde in an airtight container in the refrigerator and shake well before serving. For best flavor and nutrient quality, enjoy within 24 hours.
